Death Note, Episode 11, "Assault"
As the special task force discusses with the brilliant detective L the disappearance of Misora Naomi, they are suddenly alerted to a terrible event unfolding on Sakura TV. As they watch in horror, the news anchors of Sakura TV tell of receiving tapes they know to come from Kira. The first tape, they say, has already demonstrated Kira's power and now they are to play the second tape as further evidence. As the tape plays, it warns of and accurately predicts the death of an anchor on Taiyou TV. Another anchor dies seconds later.
The tape continues with a message to the public of Kira's desire to have a world for gentle people to enjoy. Chief Yagami, despite being in the hospital after a recent heart attack, rushes frantically to the television station to retrieve the tapes. Using a patrol van to conceal his identity, Chief Yagami crashes through the station's glass doors. Others who have tried to gain entry to the station drop dead of a heart attack outside it's doors.
After successfully retrieving the tapes, Chief Yagami brings them to L who discovers that the fourth and final tape order that he and another senior policeman appear on television to announce cooperation with Kira. By revealing their faces on television, Kira would be able to dispose of them if the police were to continue to defy him.
Light, watching the events on television as well, realizes another Death God has come down to earth and suspects the human who holds the death note may have the eyes of a Death God, making him more powerful than Kira himself. He decides to help out with the investigation to better keep an eye on this new development and the investigation.
L suspects there is a "second Kira", an imposter posing as Kira in these latest events. This is not Kira's signature, to kill innocents to further his cause. He decides to bring Light into the investigation despite his suspicions that he is the real Kira. He does not, however, intend to let Light know he suspects a second Kira.
Meanwhile, a young girl, Misa, walks gingerly along a sidewalk with her Shinigami following behind. She idolizes Kira and is proud of what she has done. She will have Kira's attention now. She is playing a dangerous game, but she has the "eyes" and knows her power is greater than Kira's.
