Death Note Episode 15 - "Wager"
The episode opens with Rem asking Light to take her to L so that she can kill him as soon as possible. Though Light initially thinks that the sooner they kill L the better, he decides it would be wiser to think things through for another day before making a quick decision that could result in his defeat. He tells Rem that he will decide how to kill L overnight, and that no matter what, she cannot kill L until he gives the order to do so.
Misa asks Light for his cell phone number, but Light tells her that they cannot exchange phone numbers, as the police might tap their phones as Kira suspects. Misa, however, has three different cell phones and proceeds to give on to Light so that he can call her from it. Light tells Misa that he is the only that can make the calls, and will only do so when entirely necessary. Light kisses Misa good bye, which comes as a surprise to Ryuk, though Light explains that he must keep her infatuated with him in order to keep her totally obedient.
L deduces that if the two Kiras had in fact met, he would be in danger of death. He determines that if dies within the next few days that Light is definitely Kira, as he is the only one that knows his identity. He tells the team that if he is to die within the next couple of days, they must arrest Light immediately and proceed without him. Confused at the situation, L decides that he must make a move quick in order to survive.
He appears to Light out in the open, and tells him that he should be safe due to the fact that Light is the only one that knows his identity, and that he had instructed the investigation team to arrest Light if he were to die. While frustrated, Misa appears, and Light realizes he has won the battle, as Misa can see L's real name. A crowd quickly gathers around the three, as someone violates Misa by brushing up against her. As the three depart, Light decides to call Misa to get L's real name. However, Light's plans are once again foiled as L picks up the phone which is now in his possession. L announces to light that Misa has been taken into custody in suspicion of being the second Kira.
Light at first thinks he has been defeated, but then realizes he still has one more play. Misa, who had been continually begging Rem to kill her, gives up her ownership of the death note, erasing all of her memories of Kira, Rem, and the death note.
